Linak TV Lift Reset - Initialization of Linak TV Lifts made easy

After a power failure, when moving house or after an interruption in the power supply, it can happen that a Linak-controlled TV lift no longer reacts as usual. This is perfectly normal - a short reset is usually a short reset is usually sufficient to recalibrate the end positions and allow the system to work fully synchronized again.

In order for your TV lift to move correctly again, the control system must know where the lower end position is. This process is called initialization and can be carried out in a few simple steps.

To carry out the Linak TV-Lift reset

1. Move the TV lift all the way down.
2. Then press and hold the down button.
3. Keep the button pressed for approx. 10-30 seconds (depending on the control system used) until the lift retracts a little further - usually by about 1-2 mm.
4. As soon as this happens, initialization is complete and the lift should function normally again.

It can happen that the Linak control unit "sleeps" in standby mode and does not respond directly. In this case, simply repeat the initialization process described above several times - up to up to 4-6 times - until the control unit wakes up and the TV lift is initialized correctly.

If a lower end position is saved, a so-called forced initialization may be necessary. In this case, move the TV lift to the saved lower end position and keep the down button pressed until the additional small downward overtravel has been reached, until the additional small downward overtravel occurs. The system is then initialized.

Important for forced INI operations: Make sure that the bottom edge of the TV does not collide with the floor! Dismantle the TV if you cannot rule out a collision - measure the position of the TV (UK) and the remaining travel distance on the lifting column!

FAQ: If the TV lift can no longer be initialized

If the Linak TV-Lift system can no longer be initialized despite several attempts, this may indicate a defect in one of the components of one of the components. The following are possible:

• the Linak CBD4 control unit (up to approx. 2015),
• the Linak CBD6S control unit (from approx. 2015),
• the remote control or the control element,
• or, in rare cases, the main drive or main drives.

The CBD4 control unit is no longer available. Its successor is the CBD6S, which is downwards compatible (mains voltage 110V to 230V) and can therefore also work with older Linak TV lift systems. On the operator side of the CBD6S, however, connectivity is only available to current Bluetooth units and modern control panels modern control panels.

Why a reset may be necessary

A reset does not mean that the system is defective, but in many cases is simply a necessary End position adjustment.
